High Peak MP Andrew Bingham has said he is 'delighted' that the Friends of Conduit Street Playing Fields in Tintwistle have been awarded £40,000 from Veolia to replace the current play equipment on the fields.

Andrew said:

"I was absolutely delighted to learn that the Friends of Conduit Street had been successful in their bid. As they said to me when I visited them recently, it really is a great Christmas present. They first visited me over a year ago to tell me their ambitions for the play area, and I visited them only recently.

"I was very happy to write a letter of support for the bid and it’s to their great credit that it has been successful. I look forward to visiting again when the work is done."
